To belong is the most basic human need. From the beginning, God wanted us to belong to him. So he created the convent community, beginning with Abraham and his descendant, and said, “I will be your God and you will be my people.” He sent Jesus Christ to remove the penalty of sin so that we could belong to him forever. God assured us that even death wouldn’t cancel that belonging, “Nothing can separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
Out of that faith, the church arose to be a place of spiritual belonging. Believers in Christ are to be as closely knit together as parts of the human body. “The members of the body, though many, are one body.” In the church, we find this place of belonging and unconditional love.
If you are a member or friend, you already belong to this family of faith. We are committed to making you feel at home and valued here. And you will enhance that “belonging” by getting to know other members of the family. This directory is a powerful tool that can help you do that. I encourage you to use it; call up a fellow member or friend and ask them how they’re doing, invite someone to lunch, learn the names of their kids. Be active in the church and you’ll grow in your faith!
If you are new to the church, we want you to belong to this family of faith. We open our arms to you and encourage you to know us better. A place of Christian friendship and belonging awaits you here.
