Fall Sunday School Classes
ADULT SUNDAY SCHOOL
|Sept 7, 14, 28 – 11:00 – 12:00 – taught by Kelly Beiro
God Takes the Stage – Religion and Theater Arts
Inspired by the successful summer History of Religious Art classes by Alex Nixon, this three-week September series will examine the performing arts through plays on film, Jesus Christ Superstar, Godspell, and Joseph & the Amazing Dreamcoat, Gospel Road.
With video clips and scripture, we’ll consider the artistic representation of Biblical truth. What did they get right and what is artistic license? How does interpretation of religious content add to and detract from the mission of spreading the Gospel?
CHILDREN’S SUNDAY SCHOOL
September 7,14,28 – 10:15 – 12:00 Kids – taught by Jett Tanner
“Clue”! Become a Detective in God’s Detection Squad
In this exciting detective-themed series, children become God’s Detection Squad; as they learn to spot evidence of God’s work in their everyday lives. Using detective skills like observation, collection of evidence, and putting clues together, kids will discover that although God is invisible, He leaves His fingerprints everywhere!
Just as we can’t see the wind but can see its effects, we can learn to recognize God’s presence in nature, in our circumstances, in other people, and in our lives. The Bible stories of Elijah, Daniel, Zacchaeus, and Phillip will anchor this study.
A time for board games and snacks will follow while parents attend the adult class.
At least two adults will be with the kids at all times. Please notify us of any allergies.
