About Us

Founded in 1914, Hyde Park Presbyterian has served Tampa for over 100 years.  Our core values are to bring people to God, help them know Jesus Christ as their personal Savior, teach them the Bible and invite them to serve others.  New worshipers are always welcome.  If our staff can serve you in some way, don’t hesitate to contact us.  Also, talk to us about holding your wedding in our beautiful sanctuary.

We have two styles of worship Sunday mornings: Crave, a contemporary service and a Traditional Service. Both services are held in the sanctuary which can be entered from W. Swann Avenue or from the parking lot at the corner of Willow and Swann. We have parking places reserved for visitors in this lot. Crave begins at 9:15 am and the traditional service starts at 11:15 am – each one hour long. A nursery is available for both services  Communion is observed on the first Sunday of the month at both services.

Here’s what to expect from each service:

Crave Service

The service takes place at 9:15 am in the sanctuary downstairs. You may enter from the parking lot on Willow and Swann when you visit or enter from Orleans street. Someone can show you how to get to the sanctuary or you can enter through the white doors that face West Swann Avenue. It’s a friendly crowd and you are invited to find a place in a pew.

Traditional Service:

Traditional worship takes place in the sanctuary downstairs. Enter from Swann Ave. or from either the Orleans or Willow entrances.  Our ushers will greet you, give you a worship bulletin and

answer any questions you have.

Whichever style of worship you choose, we welcome your presence.

Answers to some questions you might have:

What to wear
At the contemporary service, dress is quite casual. We want you to feel comfortable worshiping, so feel free to dress comfortably. At the traditional service, most people wear business casual attire; suits for men are uncommon.

What do I do with my kids
If you have a child from ages 0-3, please feel free to drop your child off at the nursery when you arrive.  Please check out the Nursery page for more information. If you have a child from ages 3 yr to 5th grade, they are welcome to stay in the service (tote bags for children are found at the entrance to both services) or participate in Sunday School.  Please check out the Sunday School page for more information on age groups and times.

Do I need anything for the service?
Bibles are provided for the traditional service and relevant verses are displayed on the screen at the contemporary service. If you want to take notes, please bring a writing  instrument.
