CHURCH NEWS

Carl Brannan, MD 1922 – 2025
Memorial Service 11 am, Fri., Jan. 31 at HPPC

Carl Brannan died peacefully in his home on January 15th, at a regal 102 years of age. In 1946, Carl graduated from Tulane University School of Medicine in the morning and that afternoon married Martha Witherspoon (Monk). They were married 75 years.

Carl was an active member of Hyde Park Presbyterian Church in Tampa, FL, from 1970 until his death and served as an Elder. Prayers of comfort for HPPC members Tony & Jane, Tony Jr. & Christina and Kim; and the entire Brannan clan.

Memorial Service Friday, Jan. 31 at 11:00am at Hyde Park Presbyterian Church.
Memorial donations may be made to Hyde Park Presbyterian or Young Life of Tampa.

Snacks Worthy of the Big Football Game
at the Brannan’s. (And those that are NOT!)

Harriet Plyler brings us Harriet’s Florida Kitchen detailing her version of the 7 Layer Dip with Guac.
Perfect for football game day (or anytime, really) snacking. No matter who your team is, you need this layered taco dip … featuring the Barefoot Contessa’s guacamole – maybe the best on the planet. Also, terrible ideas for healthy snacks exposed by Harriet!

Annual Meeting of the Congregation
Sunday, Feb. 23rd following Worship

Join us for the Annual Meeting where we will receive the End of Year Reports from each Committee, update reports from the Admin & Building Committee on renovations, and Interim Pastor renewal information.

Information Packets will be available on February 16th at Worship, or can be requested via email.

Score some condensed soup for Souper Bowl Sunday to feed kids of End 68.

The Super Bowl will be here before you know it. While we all enjoy the pricey commercials and the big game, some children here in Tampa who are served by End 68 Hours of Hunger will not be lucky enough to have a get-together or extra snacks. Let’s help warm their winter by collecting soup. Think of soups kids would love to eat (not cream soup) and condensed like Campbell’s so it isn’t so heavy. Bring your soup with you on Souper Bowl Sunday, Feb. 9 … to church or to the party!

Please join us Sunday for the premiere showing of
