CHURCH NEWS

Do YOU have a DOOM Pile?
Find out how to deal at 11:00 Sunday!
The “doom” in a Doom pile is not as scary as it sounds. It is actually an acronym meaning “Didn’t Organize, Only Moved..”  A Doom pile is a stash of random stuff thrown together to be organized (or not) sometime in the future.
Ecclesiastes 3:1, 5-6
For everything there is a season and a time for every matter under heaven: …
a time to throw away stones and a time to gather stones together;
a time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing;
a time to seek and a time to lose;
a time to keep and a time to throw away …

Does the Bible have something to say to you about your DOOM pile(s)?

Drop (off) Your Drawers Extended to Sunday!

Before school starts in August, Clothes to Kids outfits about 16,000 children with 5 days worth of clothing. Each child gets 5 sets of NEW underwear and socks—that’s 80,000 pieces of underwear! Each year we help them meet this need.

Please purchase new underwear to help—specifically young women’s bikini sizes 5-9, and boys boxers and knit boxers sizes XS,S, M, and L, and Men’s Knit Boxer Briefs sizes S, M, L, and XL. Please bring them to church Sunday. Thanks.

Summer Fellowship Luncheon
Enjoyed by Young and Old(er) Alike!
Nearly 30 people enjoyed Cuban sandwiches, The Columbia’s 1905 Salad (homemade by Harriet Plyler, star of Youtube’s Harriet’s Florida Kitchen), Chips (what’s a Cuban without chips?) and cool rainbow popsicles for dessert. Carla, our new admin assistant joined in and brought her “nearly famous” but definitely delicious cheesecake and Rev. Carl Lammers, our guest pastor for the day, stayed to enjoy the lunch and fellowship.

Thanks to all who helped pull it all together!
