EVENTS & FELLOWSHIP

Session and Staff Gather for BBQ and Camaraderie

The members of the HPPC Session, along with the staff of our church gathered together last night for fun and fellowship at the lovely new home of Stacey and Josh Crum, where Josh slow-smoked ribs and chopped BBQ. Stacey and Josh are both elders, with Stacey currently serving on the Session, and Josh as president of the Church Foundation.

The Session wanted to share how much they depend upon, and appreciate our hard working staff. The staff’s kind, friendly attitudes and helpfulness do not go unnoticed. They serve as part of the core foundation and support of so many of our church’s activities, ministry, building management and programs.

Praise God from whom all blessings flow that we are a church family who can gather to enjoy each others’ company, laugh and serve Him alongside one another.

Celebrate Communion this Sunday
August 4th at 10:00 amJoin us this Sunday, in person or online, to celebrate the sacrament of the Lord’s Supper.

The role and purpose of the sacraments are grounded in a firm belief that the sacraments connect us to Christ through the presence of the Holy Spirit. At the communion table we are invited to offer our own lives as a “living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God”.    (Romans 12:1).

How the Bible Became the Greatest Book Ever Sold: New Adult Bible Study Coming!

On Sunday, August 18th, we will embark upon a study led by our very own member Karla Grant, who has taught Bible Studies at HPPC for many years.

We’ll delve into those who passed down the truth of God’s stories orally through many generations; those ancient writers who wrote down the history; and the disciples and apostles who shared their personal experiences with Jesus and his ministry.

We will see how the texts went through analytical tests by respectable Vatican councils, who voted to either accept or throw out certain documents — all through the power of the Holy Spirit to cull the Word of God into the text we have today.

Join us in the Conference Room each Sunday after worship, for this unique educational opportunity.
