Be an Advent Guardian Angel!!
We’re looking for some Guardian Angels this year! You can make a difference in the life of a child who is in the court system. We’re excited to partner with the Guardian Ad Litem Program for a toy drive to benefit children who are separated from their parents. A Guardian Ad Litem becomes a voice for the child’s best interests and needs.
In Hillsborough County, The Guardian Ad Litem Program works with more than 3500 neglected, abused, abandoned and/or disabled children who have been removed from their homes and placed in the hands of the court. Many of these children are in foster care in our community and this may be the only gift they receive. We are joining their efforts to provide a Merry Christmas for those children by contributing new, unwrapped toys which will be offered to the guardian who will select a toy based on the child’s interests.
We invite you to join us in this partnership opportunity to care and share with children in need! The Guardian Ad Litem representative has suggested the following types of toys to make a child’s Christmas special this year:
- Multi-racial dolls
- Trucks or Truck sets
- Lego or Lego type block sets
- Craft Sets
You can drop off your donation any day at the church during office hours, between now and December 12, 2020. Use the Willow Street entrance and place them in the brown Mission Corner box. Or bring it with you to Sunday 5:45 pm services and place in the box in the narthex. A Mission Ministry person will also be at the Willow door from 11:30 to 2 pm on Saturday, December 12.
If you prefer, please make a monetary donation online or send a check designated for the Guardian Angel Project to the church by December 1st so the elves can shop. Thanks for your enthusiastic contributions once again.
May the Advent Season bring you peace, love, joy and hope!!
