What distinguished the theology of the Reformation from the theology of the Roman Catholic church in the 16th century? “The Five Solas” lie at the center of our faith.
Sunday School for all ages at 11:00 am
Adults are out of Judges (whew!) and moving into Samuel. You can come in and out and not feel left behind. Advance knowledge is not necessary to participate in the always animated discussion! This adult study complements the children’s curriculum, as we move through the Bible.
All Children begin classes in the Chapel immediately after the Worship service with singing. Cozy Corner Nursery will be a safe place to explore and learn with age appropriate activities for newborn through Pre-Kindergarten.
CHURCH NEWS
HPPC All Church Survey now available.
As a church family together, we want to establish priorities as HPPC moves forward. Thank you for participating in this survey which will be identifying strengths, as well as opportunities for improvement. The survey is being conducted by Leighton Ford Ministries, a Christian non-profit that specializes in ministry leadership.
Each member of a household (16 years and up) should respond. All survey responses are anonymous! Paper surveys are mailed in their sealed envelopes directly to Leighton Ford Ministries.
The survey will take you about 20-30 minutes to complete. You will need to complete the survey in one sitting. (If you are interrupted before sending, you will need to start over.) Contact Kim Brannan or Lynda Waters or church office if you want a paper survey.

The Worship Bulletin is now loaded on the Church Center App in case you forgot to pick one up in the foyer before worship. Let’s save some trees and use that if you wish. Click More at the bottom of the home page.
The eChimes Newsletter is also available on the Church Center App AND online. It will still be mailed via email, but it goes into the Promotions or other folder, so now you can just pull it up on Church Center. Click More at the bottom on Church Center.

The following members were elected to serve on Session at the Congregational Meeting on October 9, 2022
Guy Bryant is a native Buffalonian, and is still waiting for the Bills first Super Bowl win! He has been in Florida since 1984, when he met Nancy, a South Tampa native (Plant High!), and his wife of almost 37 years. Guy and Nancy have two daughters, Amanda (presently engaged), and Megan (Leibl). Guy has been a member of HPPC for more than ten years, and served a term on the session a few years back. Guy is currently a private equity investor and consultant to CEOs of private equity backed healthcare companies. Additionally, he is Co-Chairman of Elevate Tampa Bay, which offers a faith based life skills curriculum and mentoring for at risk students in an urban public school environment. Guy looks forward to helping HPPC to fulfill its potential in serving our community, our membership, and God’s Kingdom.
Nancy Corwin is finishing her first term on Session at Hyde Park Presbyterian and is looking forward to serving an additional year term to assist with the plans for growth of the church. She and her husband Scott have been members of Hyde Park Presbyterian since 2016. A retired school psychologist, Nancy has been involved with the Missions Ministry, Elder Nominating Committee and serves on the Personnel Committee. She has also assisted with teaching the Children’s Sunday School classes.
Stacey Waters Crum is a Tampa Native and lifelong member of Hyde Park Presbyterian Church. A graduate of FSU, Stacey and her (gator) husband, Josh have two children, Carter Claire (8), Margot (5) and golden retriever, Scout. Stacey works as the Interior Designer for New Legacy Homes. She enjoys fishing, cooking and pretty much anything outside. She has served on the Pastoral Nominating Committee, The Associate Pastor Nominating committee, as a singer in services and has enjoyed a couple of seasons with the church softball team, The Holy Smokes. Stacey is grateful for the experiences and friendships that HPPC has afforded her and is excited to help lead the church in her second term as Elder.
Mary Beth Freeman was born and raised just outside of Cleveland, Ohio. She attended The Ohio State University (sorry James) before obtaining her law degree from Case Western Reserve University. Shortly after graduating from law school, Mary Beth and her husband, Brad Freeman, moved to Tampa, and in 2021, welcomed their daughter, Avery. Mary Beth currently works as a commercial attorney for Jabil Inc., loves cooking, traveling, reading, and, of course, spending time with her family and friends. Mary Beth enjoyed getting to know several members of the HPPC community during the Alpha course of 2020. She looks forward to greater involvement in HPPC and the opportunity to serve as an Elder.
Megan Bryant Leibl is a Tampa native and began attending Hyde Park Presbyterian Church 10 years ago. She and her husband, Chris, graduated from the University of Virginia and have two cats, Peaches and Cannoli. Megan works for Ticketmaster as a Cloud Engineer. She loves to exercise and be outdoors, especially playing soccer. Megan is also an avid foodie and loves trying new restaurants. Megan volunteers in the community through the Junior League of Tampa, and has previously served on the elder nominating committee at Hyde Park Presbyterian Church. Megan is looking forward to the opportunity to serve the church as an Elder.
Marshall “Dek” Wright hails from the small New Jersey town of Shrewsbury (Exit 109) and has called Tampa home since 2018. A single father to a three-year-old Peace Lily house plant named Oliver, Dek works remotely as a technical writer for a California-based telecommunications company. Dek is an avid health and fitness enthusiast who enjoys working out and engaging in an assortment of outdoor activities. Outside of the gym and the office, Dek’s hobbies include being a bandwagon Bolts fan, watching cooking shows that feature foods he’ll neither ever cook nor eat, and regularly spending too much money at his local Publix. Dek is a life-long Presbyterian and was officially welcomed as a member of Hyde Park Presbyterian Church in 2019. Dek has helped lead several Alpha classes, served on the Elder Nominating Committee, and will soon also assist with the children’s Sunday School program. Dek is honored for the opportunity to serve his Hyde Park church family as Elder.
