The Missions Ministry at HPPC
Thanks You!

The Missions Ministry of Hyde Park Presbyterian has had a busy and productive fall and early winter. The week prior to Thanksgiving break, a handwritten, personalized note of appreciation was written to each staff member at West Tampa Elementary. A Panera Gift Card was included with each note. West Tampa serves an economically challenged community and is one of the schools we have partnered with for book drives and End 68 Hours of Hunger.

A huge Thank You to each of you who contributed to the Share the Joy — Guardian ad Litem gift collection.  As a result of your generosity our partner from GAL, Yvonne Marrone, left the church Monday with her SUV bulging at the doors. The collection included dozens of dolls, trucks,  dinosaurs and a variety of other toys for children of all ages.

Thanks to those of you who sent monetary donations!!  Over $100 dollars was collected and used to add to the toy collection. New to our effort this year was the request for gift cards for the older boys and girls served by Guardian ad Litem. That age group was also blessed by your caring! The value of the gift cards to a variety of stores and fast food restaurant was almost $400.

Please watch for upcoming Missions projects, and if you would like to be directly involved with this group, watch for our meeting schedule and plan to join us in person on or Zoom.

The New Horizons band, directed by our own Bryan Alspach, performed in the HPPC Sanctuary last Sunday. This photo shows Rev. James narrating “Twas the Night Before Christmas” with musical interludes.
