CHURCH NEWS

Yes! It’s a new roof!

A new roof was installed this week on the Sanctuary! The much-needed repairs on the Sanctuary roof will be funded as a capital expenditure through the HPPC Foundation. (No monies from the sale of the Orleans house.)

Your Session met on January 31, 2023
— Expressed immense gratitude to Delisa Hooper, who for many years has graciously volunteered to prepare the elements for Communion in our worship services.  We are now searching for a replacement — perhaps several people who may take turns on a rotating basis.  If interested, please contact Stacey Crum or Mary Beth Freeman, Worship Committee.
— The Session is searching for two individuals who would be interested in serving as Wedding Coordinators at HPPC.  Those interested should contact the church office.
— Treasurer Tony Brannan Jr. reported that our stewardship season resulted in 25 pledges received to support the church budget in 2023.  Please be aware that if the church is not aware of your intent to provide ongoing financial support to HPPC in 2023, we cannot responsibly plan our budget for the year.  Please consider making a pledge today.  Simply email your desire to finance@hydeparkpres.com.

Celebrate President’s Day
The Church Office will be closed Mon. Feb. 20
Originally established as a national holiday in 1885 in recognition of President George Washington, it’s now popularly viewed as a day to celebrate all US presidents, both past and present. And a great reason to have furniture sales all weekend long.

Children’s Education opportunities:

HPPC has opportunities for you to share the love with the younger generation.  Contact Miss Ilma to find out more about about volunteer options with Children’s Education. Children@hydeparkpres.com

How can we all best help in the future of HPPC?
By Committing to Pray!
How often?  TWICE A DAY.
WHEN?  At 8:28 am and 8:28 pm
Why such an odd time?  Praying at the same time, twice a day, will help us get into a predictable habit. We have chosen this specific time to unite all of us with the promise of Romans 8:28 which proclaims …
“We know that in everything God works for good with those who love him, who are called according to His purpose.”
We believe that we are called by God and we desire to see His will and purposes fleshed out here at HPPC. Join us. Pray twice a day at 8:28!!
