HPPC Palm Sunday, Puppet Show & Egg Hunt 2023
HPPC Session Meeting Tuesday, February 28, 2023
The following items are highlights of the business they conducted:
Christina Brannan, Chair of the HPPC Preschool Task Force, provided an in-depth update, sharing that our church has been in conversation and negotiation with two local schools for consideration of housing them in our church building. Apollo Academy, a private elementary school needs to find its new home by this August. The J.C.C., a private preschool, needs to find its new home by next August 2024. Christina, along with both the Admin and Building/Grounds Committees will return to the Session for their review and vote once formal proposals are formed. This will allow HPPC to share our building with the community, as well as bring in revenue.
The Session approved a diagnostic evaluation for the elevator to determine specific problems and proposed costs for repair. Repairs for the church lawn’s sprinkler system are being conducted.
The Session approved creating a Fellowship Committee to be chaired by lay church members, to plan social events to promote fellowship across all age groups. If you are interested in serving, please reach out to Mary Beth Freeman or Megan Leibl, Session liaisons for this new committee.
“Pizza on the Playground” is being co-hosted by Tony & Christina Brannan and Josh & Stacey Crum. Parents with young children are invited to attend! Parents may visit and children may play. Much fun to be had! Friday, April 14th 5-7:00 pm.
A New Life Group is being formed for post-college adults through parents of young children. The first meeting is to be held Tuesday, April 18 at 6:30 pm hosted and led by Bob & Carol Kline in their home. Dinner will be provided.
Stacey Crum, Worship Chair, shared that we have new church brochures created to share with visitors. We also have new Connect Cards for greeters to distribute to visitors so we may gain their information to follow-up with them afterward.
How can we all best help in the future of HPPC?
By Committing to Pray!
How often? TWICE A DAY.
WHEN? At 8:28 am and 8:28 pmWhy such an odd time? Praying at the same time, twice a day, will help us get into a predictable habit. We have chosen this specific time to unite all of us with the promise of Romans 8:28 which proclaims … “We know that in everything God works for good with those who love him, who are called according to His purpose.”
We believe that we are called by God and we desire to see His will and purposes fleshed out here at HPPC. Join us. Pray twice a day at 8:28!!
