CHURCH NEWS
Just a few of the photos from last Sunday.

The musical program “Christmas Through a Child’s Eyes” was presented on December 15th, followed by a reception with cake and punch celebrating our children and Miss Faith’s work with them over the last year and a half. Children participating were Wilson and Hunter Brannan, Carter and Margot Crum, Stella Malek, Madeline, Dwight and Margaux Plyler, Keira Shelton, McKenzie Smith, Natalie and Joanna Tanner. Faith Palafas sang “Mary Did You Know”, Margaux directed the inaugural performance of The Dingalings with “Silent Night”, and the candle of Joy was lit. CLICK HERE for the full service.  We will share more photos of all the holiday events soon.
Many thanks to Jett Tanner, Faith Pilafas and the Christian Ed committee for planning the service; and to Jett and the Maxey family for the reception.

Toys Headed to Guardian ad Litem

A “sleigh” full of toys and gifts for the children and youth of Guardian ad Litem were sent on their merry way by Tony Brannan of the Missions committee. Because of you, and the volunteers with Guardian ad Litem who will match up the gifts with the children, Christmas morning will a bit brighter. Thank you for your generosity!

December 22
THE CANDLE OF LOVE
We have lit three candles – for hope, for peace, and for joy. Now we light the candle of love. With this flame we remember the love of God that surrounds and fills us at all times and that we celebrate in a special way in the Christmas story.

There is no greater power than love. It is stronger than rulers and empires, stronger than grief or despair, stronger even than death. We love because first God loves us.

This week’s prayer: Loving God, we open ourselves to you this Christmas season. As these candles are lit, light our lives with your imagination. Show us the creative power of hope. Teach us the peace that comes from justice. Fill us with the kind of joy that cannot be contained, but must be shared. Magnify your love within us. Prepare our hearts to be transformed by you, that we may walk in the light of Christ.
