After Children’s Time, the kids are dismissed for a movie, activities and snacks. This week we’ll talk about why did Marlin went so far to find Nemo? How does God search for us? What should we do when someone is lost or hurting?

Drop (Off) Your Drawers—Help Solve the “Drawer Dilemma”
Something as small as a pair of underwear can have a big impact. This is the LAST WEEK of our Drop (Off) Your Drawers Underwear Drive! If you didn’t Drop Your Drawers yet, you can still bring them to church on Sunday, Aug. 3, or drop them in the Mission Bin right inside the Willow Street doors (9am-1pm). Or simply donate online; be sure to indicate Drop Off Your Drawers.
Thanks, from your Missions Ministry
New Manna Bags!
This Sunday, look for someone selling “new” Manna Bags. In addition to the usual snacks, water and toiletries, each bag also contains something called “breadcoins.” Breadcoins are worth $5, and they allow recipients to purchase food or beverages from vendors in our area (mostly food trucks).
You can purchase a Manna Bag for $5, and there will be additional coins available for purchase if you want to add more. Each bag contains a message from us and a list of places where help might be found, as well as a list of places accepting breadcoins.
Thanks for your continuing support in fulfilling our mission in the community.
It’s time to restock the church freezer!
Join us for a Cooking Fest at Kim Brannan’s–ingredients are furnished and all are welcome. Come to chop, mix and cook!
RSVP to the church office for Kim’s address at 813-253-0069, or contact Kim Brannan or Lynda Waters directly.
$38.34 Per Capita 2025–What It Is and Why It Matters
Per Capita funds ($38.34 for each member) enable our Presbytery to support the work of local congregations, along with the larger PCUSA. This support includes churches in transitions, searching for a new pastor, identifying interim and supply pastors, shared mission projects, among others.
HPPC is committed to paying the Per Capita apportionment, and it will come from our General Budget if members do not choose to contribute their fair share. As our church seeks to recover from hurricane damage and perform necessary repairs as well as carry out our mission, your generosity will help us do that.
You may contribute by noting Per Capita on your check, online donations on the website, or through Church Center (scroll down on the online options).
The Session thanks you for supporting the ministry of our church!
Update from the Building Committee:
After completing the new roof on the education building a few months ago, we passed another milestone this week. The storm damage on the first floor has been repaired, and the space is ready for End 68 Hours of hunger to relocate from the other end of the building this week! This move will relieve the logjam on the Willow Street end of the building.
We are awaiting permits from the City for our renovated elevator, as well as for building a ramp on the Orleans end of our building. The ramp will be for End 68 and for additional handicap access for HPPC.
We are now expected to be completed in August.
As expected, Apollo School is expanding and will be taking over the former End 68 space with a new classroom and office. This will also result in additional rental income for HPPC. That construction is also well underway and will be completed by August 22.
Coming this fall … steeple repair and second floor storm damage repair (and moving Elevate back into their space). Stay tuned for additional progress updates in the coming weeks and months!
