Lenten Service Wednesdays: Manna Bags Tonight!
You are invited to join the Missions Ministry in your Lenten Wednesday Journey. We hope you’ll want to learn more about homelessness in our community on March 1 and all ages will help pack Manna Bags to be given to those you encounter.
Register for Manna Bags March 1.We especially need your help to collect food for End 68 Hours of Hunger’s children. There are more than 860 kids getting help from them (and us). A bag for your use will be on the pews next Sunday. If you are not attending but want to help, see the banner to see what items to collect and ask neighbors and friends to help. We hope HPPC can get at least 75 bags filled! Bags can be brought with you on Sundays or brought to our church on Wednesday, March 8 from 5:50 to 8:00 pm. You can “drive through” to donate.  Register for End 68 March 8.

Ways we are observing Lent.

On Ash Wednesday, over 20 people, ages 6 to 100, joined together for a fellowship dinner, an educational journey on Lent by Rev. James, personal sharing, and a brief and meaningful service with imposition of ashes.

Shared that night were a wide variety of ways we can give something up, or add something to our Lenten journey.
-A video study by Francis Chan on the book of James
-Snacks, late night snacks
-More disciplined praying and Bible study
-Intermittent fasting
-Giving away some item each day
-Studying “Quiet Conversations”, Kim Brannen’s book
-Giving up negative thoughts
-Calling someone daily, just to see how they are doing

How will you observe Lent this year?

These are your Session members and Committees. They can’t wait to hear from you and how you want to help in their ministry!

How can we all best help in the future of HPPC?
By Committing to Pray!
How often?  TWICE A DAY.
WHEN?  At 8:28 am and 8:28 pm
Why such an odd time?  Praying at the same time, twice a day, will help us get into a predictable habit. We have chosen this specific time to unite all of us with the promise of Romans 8:28 which proclaims …
“We know that in everything God works for good with those who love him, who are called according to His purpose.”
We believe that we are called by God and we desire to see His will and purposes fleshed out here at HPPC. Join us. Pray twice a day at 8:28!!
