New Member Informational Gathering
Sunday, June 2 after Worship
Interested in finding out more about joining the congregation of Hyde Park Presbyterian Church? Stay a little after Worship for an Informational Gathering.

Clarification: We are not “gathering information” … it’s a low-key “gathering of people” interested in getting more information. Is that a misplaced modifier? I don’t think so, but it’s still a bit confusing. Join us … and get the facts!

Wines Around the World
Thurs. June 6 @ 6:00 pm (06.06.0600)On the 6th month, on the 6th day at the 6th hour, Kim Brannan will be hosting a wine-tasting event at her home. Her friend, Lori Rabinowitz, a certified sommelier, will lead us through “Wines Around the World” where we’ll learn about 6 wines from 6 regions around the globe.

Feel free to invite a friend or two … we can always spill out (pun intended) onto the pool deck.

To RSVP and for address etc, contact Ann Orand at the church office or Click Here.

CHURCH NEWS

Why we are wearing red on Sunday.

Sunday, May 19, is Pentecost. To a people who prefer to remain together in their comfortable, safe, homogeneous, self-serving existence at the expense of being a blessing to the world, God sends the Holy Spirit.

Jesus tells his followers just before Pentecost, “you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”

The Holy Spirit will give God’s people the power to overcome their fear so they can move out of their comfort zones and be the blessing to the world that God intends for them to be.

We encourage you to wear red this Sunday as a reminder of the burning fire of God’s love for you and that you are empowered by the Holy Spirit to do all that God wants you to.

With Stories Ripped From the Headlines
Hang around after the Worship Service for coffee and a class from The Wired Word focused on what’s happening right now. Questions and Scripture lead to interesting discussions on how we look at current events through the lens of the Bible. All are welcome.

The Missions Bin Overflows with Diapers, Moms Were Honored with Flowers and Delicious Treats, and Love was Passed On.

Mother’s Day celebrated moms, grandmas, and mother figures of all kinds on Sunday. Hundreds of diapers were donated to lend a helping hand to the families at Beth El Farmworkers Ministry of Wimauma. A big THANK YOU to all who donated.

Thanks to Mary Beth Freeman of the Membership Committee for coordinating the plans on Sunday; thanks to Jane Brannan for picking up and decorating the flowers and to Jett Tanner for baking the delicious goodies.
