June 29, 10-Noon: Toy Story
You Are Chosen and Loved
Woody feels replaced, but learns he’s still important. We are all chosen by God.Discussion:  How does it feel to be left out? What does God say about your value? How can we include others?
Activity: Toy Story toys for play. Dinosaur craft.
Food: Cheese Pizza, popcorn

It’s Here! Summertime Sunday School until Noon!
Movie Extravaganza!  June 29: Toy Story

Starting with Children’s Time in Worship, Sunday School for kids will feature popular Movies with a Christian theme, fun activities and crafts, and snacks until Noon. Parents/Grandparents/Middle Schoolers can enjoy the 11:00 Adult Class on Christian art history during this time.
June 29 and July 13- Aug. 10. Meeting in the Chapel, with two adults at all times.

Mosaic, Stained Glass vs Painting in the House of God: June 29, 11am

Alexander Nixon teaches art history at the University of Tampa, classes at Ringling College, and beginning this Fall, at Florida Polytechnic. He is a talented artist and his main focus today is sculpture.

Nixon has an MA in Art History (Brooklyn College), Latin American Studies (MA, NYU), and attended Stanford University (BA, Latin American Studies, Studio Art). He was awarded the Nathan Oliveira Award for Painting (Stanford U.). He continues to paint portraits, but his main focus today is sculpture (made from bamboo harvested from neighbors’ homes).

Seeing Is Believing; the History of Christian Art
Conference Room @ 11am & Zoom.Art has always been a way that the message of Christianity has been passed through thousands of years. Through art, illiterate people learned the Biblical stories and lessons. Modern people are struck with a deeper understanding and spiritiual longing that goes beyond cerebral Bible study.Sample topics incude: Visualizing the Bible for the Illiterate;
The Black Death: How a Pandemic Transformed Christian Art;
The Renaissance: Reconciling the Past and the Present;
The Counter Reformation: A Reckoning between Art and Religion.

Join us this summer, in person or on Zoom, with Alexander Nixon, talented artist and art history professor. The “stand alone classes” run through August 10 (skipping July 6).    Click Here for the zoom link.

Children will go to Kid’s Kirk & Sunday School following the Children’s Time until Noon.
